4-Tier Alert Severity
Every earthquake is classified by magnitude with color-coded notifications and cards. RED for major events bypasses DND with full-screen alert, custom siren, and aggressive vibration.
⚠ Important: TerraVigil does NOT replace government early-warning systems (ShakeAlert, SASMEX, JMA). Alerts arrive 60–120s after USGS detection. False positives are preferred over false negatives. Always follow official emergency procedures.

Seismic Data Sources
USGS GeoJSON
Primary source — aggregates all regional networks including DR's CNS-UASD. Fetches all_hour feed for minimal latency.
USGS FDSN
Caribbean bounding box query (14°N–28°N, 90°W–59°W). Faster regional detection for the Dominican Republic.
EMSC
European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre — global fallback source with independent event data.
GSIN
Optional aggregated source (50+ networks). Requires a free API key from gsin.dev. Sub-second aggregated data.
